I have been instructing prenatal classes with MACFE since 2012. I am also working as a Doula with MACFE and have helped over 100 clients. I love instructing prenatal classes and talking to people about the whole birth process, breast feeding and after baby care. I have three children myself, so I know what the moms are about to go through! Lorie Peters I am a prenatal educator, doula and doula training instructor. I continue to educate myself by attending workshops, and most recently the Birth and Beyond Conference in London, Ontario. I enjoying teaching couples about this exciting time in their lives. I enjoy teaching them about the different choices they have so that they can make informed decisions throughout their labour and delivery and postpartum. I am excited to be able to be a part of this special time in their lives. Jenn Norton Hello, my name is Jennifer and have I been a member of MACFE since 2012 when I completed my doula training. I began as a doula and loved this organization so much that I became a board member and now have become our newest prenatal class instructor. I have two children of my own, both teens now and I can definitely attest that each pregnancy and birth experience can be very different. I have a passion about womens health and childbirth so teaching prenatal classes helps to keep me connected to the birthing community. My personal philosophy to birth is simple, education is power and it is my goal that our class will empower people to make the right choices for themselves and their birth experience through informed consent. We discuss the stages of labour, options for pain management like labour positions and medications available, ways support people can help, breast feeding and newborn care. I have so much fun meeting new expecting parents and helping them to prepare for this next stage of their lives, welcoming their newest little family members. Hope to see you soon!! |
