PRENATAL CLASSES FAQ's:
Q: At what point during my pregnancy should I take a prenatal class? A: We recommend taking classes in and around the 6-8th month mark in your pregnancy. However anytime you can fit it in around your schedule is fine. Q: Who can I bring with me to class? A: Anyone you want! Be it your partner, doula, friend, sister, mother, etc. Typically however women do bring their partner. Q: What do I need to bring with me to class? A: If you are taking a weekend class you will get a lunch break, we do suggest you bring a bagged lunch in that case. You may also bring a pen and paper if you wish to take notes and anything else you may need to be comfortable for the day such as a pillow. Q: How far in advance do I have to pay for my class? A: Preferably upon registering for the class! We do allow 10 days from the date of registration to get your payment in. We do need to receive full payment within 10 days of registering to secure your spot in the class. Q: How do I pay for my class? A: You can pay via Credit Card/Paypal/e-Transfer online or by cheque or money order made out to MACFE. We apologize but we do not accept cash payments. Q: Can I postdate my cheque? If it is one partners first baby and the other partners second or third baby we do still recommend you take our parental classes. Q: Who do I speak with if I have questions about your classes? MACFE DOULAS FAQ's:
Q: How much does a MACFE Doula cost? A: You may find that we charge significantly less than other organizations for our Doula Services; this is largely due to the fact that we are a not for profit, volunteer-run organization. We believe strongly in the value of having a Doula present at your birth. Our standard fee is $750, which includes both pre- and postnatal visits with your doula as well as her presence during your entire labour and birth. We also offer a sliding scale option or low fee services for low income families who qualify. Also, anyone who takes a prenatal class with us or who is a repeat Doula client will receive 10% off their Doula services with us. Q: How do I go about getting a MACFE Doula? A: You can call our Doula coordinator 204-232-7602, e-mail or do it yourself online and fill out the registration form and our doula coordinator will contact you after she has set you up with a doula. Q: Can I interview more than one Doula? A: Yes, based on availability. We do want you to find a doula who you like and are comfortable with and you will be matched by our doula coordinator with someone who suits your requests. Q: How does payment work for a doula? Where and how can I pay? A: Payment may be made either via Credit Card/Paypal/e-Transfer, by cheque or by money order. Please make out all payments to MACFE. We can also make special arrangements for payment if desired; please contact our Doula Coordinator to set something up. We cannot accept cash payments at this time. Q: What if I live out of town, can I still have a MACFE Doula? A: We offer our Doula services primarily in Winnipeg, but we also have doulas serving the areas of Arborg, Île-des-Chênes, Selkirk and Steinbach. Contact our Doula Coordinator to see if we have someone available for you! |
